Great Weekend of Swimming

AAAA had a great weekend of swim meets.  We had six swimmers (Molly Albrecht, Rachel Buchner, Canaan Campbell, Heather Clark, Kayla Hedges, and Emma Reaney) travel to Columbia for Region VIII Sectionals.  Molly placed first in the 200 backstroke and we had many other top 16 individual and relay swims.  Our team placed 16th overall with 132 points, which is an outstanding accomplishment during our first season as a club team.  Here are some of our highlights:

Day 1:       1st place- Molly Albrecht- 200 Back

               14th place- Emma Reaney- 200 Breast

               8th place-  Molly Albrecht- 800 Free

Day 2:      14th place- 400 Free Relay- Hedges, Reaney, Clark, Albrecht

                 7th place- Emma Reaney- 400 IM

                 8th place- Emma Reaney- 100 Fly

                 16th place- Molly Albrecht- 200 Free

Day 3:      14th place- 800 Free Relay- Hedges, Reaney, Clark, Albrecht 

                 5th place- Molly Albrecth- 400 Free

                 6th place- Molly Albrecht- 100 Back

                 9th place- Emma Reaney- 100 Breast

Day 4:      12th place- 400 Medley Relay- Albrecht, Reaney, Clark, Hedges

                 8th place- Emma Reaney- 200 IM

                 12th place- Molly Albrecht- 1500 Free

 

We also had seven swimmers (John Eakes, Grace McCalla, Maggie McCalla, Mary Reed-Weston, Miranda Rohn, Carter Stacey, and Janet Stefanov) compete at Division II’s in Emporia.  We had some exceptional swims including swimmers going best times and qualifying for Division I’s.
