Please Read- AAAA Fall Updates

Dear AAAA Families,

As the end of summer is around the corner and school is about to get started, we want to take this time to send out important information in regards to AAAA. Our team accomplished so much during this past season and we are going to continue working hard to build on what we have started. This fall will be similar to the last, with just a few small changes. The first four months of the fall will be a pivotal time for the swimmers to develop, compete, and come together as a team. We will waste no time - from the very first day of practice we will be working hard to finish in the Top 3 at the D1 Championship Meet and send as many athletes as possible to the Speedo Sectional Championship in March.

The first event for Ad Astra is our Fall Swim Clinic. This will be held the Indoor Aquatic Center. The Swim Clinic will be held on August 20, 21, and 22. The clinic will be from 6-7PM each day. This clinic will be for new swimmers that want to see what the sport of swimming is all about. This will also help us place new swimmers into appropriate training groups.

We will start our team practices for Asteroid, Eclipse, and Elite on Monday, August 20th.

Monday - Friday 4:30PM-5:30PM Dryland, 5:30-7PM Swimming.

Once we have our schedule approved by the city, we will get you the normal practice schedule.

The Comets and Stars will start practice on Monday August 27th.  The practices times are yet to be determined. We are still waiting on the city and will not know until after August 14th, what the times will be for practice. Please mark the starting date on your calendar.

There are a few events that will take place in September and October for you to be aware of. The dates will be released immediately following the meeting with the city.

  • Parent Meeting- We encourage all parents to attend. This will give us an opportunity to get familiar with one another and go over rules, expectations, and AAAA policies.  This will also be an opportunity for coaches to share the ideas and philosophies behind the training we will be doing.  We want to develop your children into mature swimmers in a positive environment that promotes excellence both in the pool and out.

  • The 3rd Annual AAAA Swim-a-Thon® is our only fundraiser recommended by USA Swimming in which participants earn money for their team by swimming lengths of the pool. Swimmers have a two-hour period to swim a maximum of 200 lengths. With over 500 Swim-a-Thons® conducted each year, this program has proven itself over and over again as a successful method of raising funds for teams.  Last year AAAA raised $8,000 for the club.

  • Intrasquad Meet- This will give swimmers an early opportunity to compete in a meet for the first time in a relaxed setting and it will also give swimmers an opportunity to race their teammates.

  • Short Course Meet Schedule- The schedule will be posted online at the beginning of the season.

Hopefully this gives you enough to plan accordingly to attend the scheduled events. Once we have our schedule approved by the city, we will get the schedule out to everyone.  We do not suspect any major changes from our previous schedule. The AAAA coaches are very excited with the plans for this fall/winter and are ready to get going!

Thank you

Patrick, Katie, and Cassie
