Ad Astra Well Represented at All-Stars
Team Missouri Valley placed second at this year’s All-Star swim meet behind Team Colorado, 1,953 to 1,218. It was a great showing and AAAA played its part.
Ad Astra had 11 swimmers compete this past weekend, third most from any team in our LSC. We comprised 10.8% of the entire team, but contributed 11.4% of the points to Team Missouri Valley. 10 of 11 of our swimmers scored points for Team Missouri Valley. Claire Campbell and Stephen Johnson led the way for Ad Astra Area Aquatics.
Claire Campbell continued her High-Point Award Season, as she took home the 11-12 Girls High Point Award at the Midwest All-Stars in Lawrence this past weekend. Claire won two individual races in personal best times and AAAA time standards. Claire was competing against the best 11-12 year olds in the region. Congrats Claire!

Stephen Johnson was the top point scorer for the Boys 11-12 age group for Missouri Valley. He won one individual event in AAA time fashion and a personal best time by 3 seconds. Stephen had a break out meet with all best times and took home three medals. Stephen also competed on two relays.

Daniel Christie- Danny Christie qualified for the team as a 13 year old in a competitive 13-14 age group. Danny swam personal best times and competed on two relays.

Josh Florence- Josh had been sick for about two weeks, but that didn’t stop him from racing. Josh placed in the Top 16 in a few races and swam personal best times. He is getting closer and closer to achieving an AAA time. Josh also swam on one relay and five individual events.

Noah Florence- Noah competed in his first All-Stars and swam three hard races. He had his highest finish in his favorite stroke and went a best time by 3 seconds in the 100 breaststroke.

50 Breast - 11th - 40.95 A
Ainsley Krug- Ainsley qualified for one race and that race was superb! Ainsley dropped 13 seconds and achieved an AAA time standard. She was in heat 2 and won it by over 5 body lengths. It was impressive.
500 Free - 10th - 5:35.32 AAA
Payton Krug- Payton swam four individual events and all were personal best times! Payton finished in the Top 16 in all of her races.
100 Breast - 14th - 1:28.67 A
100 IM - 12th - 1:17.64 AA

Sydney Sirimongkhon-Dyck- Sydney swam two personal best times in her two individual events. She came very close to an AAAA time in the 50 free breaking the 25-second barrier the first time. She finished 5th in the 50 free.

Janet Sefanov- Janet swam two AA times and just missed her AAA time in the 50 backstroke. Janet scored points for MVS in the 50 back finishing 9th.

Emily Venters- Emily had the opportunity to swim in three races at All-Stars and swam two events that she finished in the Top 16.
