Ad Astra Area Aquatics Hosts Regional Championships; Team Takes First Place 

[Lawrence, KS] – Ad Astra Area Aquatics hosted the Missouri Valley Swimming Championships this past weekend. The meet featured the best swimmers from Kansas and Missouri.  

Ad Astra is no stranger to success at this meet.  They have placed in the top 5 each if the past 6 years. This year was no different. Ad Astra Area Aquatics placed 4th in the overall team point standings and 1st for medium teams.  Other local team, the Lawrence Aquahawks, placed 10th . 

"We have placed a high value on excellence since starting AAAA," stated Coach Norman.  "Our swimmers take pride in our success.  We swam lights out over the course of 4 days. Our kids had some huge time drops."

Ad Astra had 6 top finishers in individual events and scored 7 relays on the top 3.  We also had 4 individuals place as high point winners.

AAAA coach Patrick Norman is proud of these local swimmers.  

 

“Ad Astra has created history of high achievers in just a short 8 years of existence as a program. This championship group was fun to watch,” said Norman. “Competing at this level is what swimmers worked hard for all season."

Team tryouts will be August 13-31 at the Haskell University pool at 6:30pm.  All interested swimmers are welcome. 

Ad Astra Area Aquatics

Ad Astra Area Aquatics was founded in 2010 as an Age Group program and developed into a regional contender.  They are the only Level 3 recognized team in Lawrence.
