Ad Astra Swimmers Compete at Voorhees-Maxfield

Ad Astra competed in it’s first long course meet of the year last weekend in Topeka. This was the first time we had seen long course meters as a team. There were over 660 swimmers in attendance at the meet from the Missouri Valley.

We had 41 athletes compete and I would like to recognize those swimmers that competed for the first time in a long course pool:

Chad Anderson

Karsyn Robertson

Devon Lyle

Cadence Cheng

Darby Mance

Bryce Wheeler

The following swimmers swam the mile for the first time:

Elijah Florence, Claire Campbell, Stephen Johnson, Evan Eskilson, Ben Stallbaumer and Danny Christie

The following Swimmers achieved MVS Long Course Championship Time Standards for their current age group:

Claire Campbell

Stephen Johnson

Evan Eskilson

Danny Christie

Devon Lyle

Canaan Campbell

Noah Florence

Josh Florence

Kathryn Bach

David Christie

Ava Cormaney

Marian Frick

Simone Herlihy

Morgan Jones

Ainsley Krug

Payton Krug

Mary Reed Weston

Elijah Florence

Swimming in long course meters was great for Ad Astra and helped all 41 swimmers jump-start into the season. The times posted at this meet were promising as there were several highlighting moments. Just having the opportunity to race in April is helpful. We had fifteen swimmers finish in the Top 8 in an individual event. Our next meet is on May 17-May 19th in Lee’s Summit. Great Job Ad Astra Swimmers on a strong start to the summer season.
