Ad Astra Shines at Summer Sectionals

 

Our group of nine swimmers swam to one the all-time Ad Astra team performances at the Speedo Summer Sectionals - Central Zone South in Columbia, MO this past week. Each swimmer on our roster contributed to the team’s total points in route to a 12^th place overall team finish, 9^thplace boys finish and 11^th place girls finish at the meet. We captured 18 total medals, 5^th overall, finishing only behind three college teams and another team three times our size. All swimmers swam to best times during the meet.

 

Banks Anderson achieved his first 2 Summer Jr. National cuts in the 1500 and 400 freestyle events and a new Winter Cut in the 400 IM. Teammate Colborn Trout swam to his first Winter Jr. National cut in the 400 freestyle alongside new Futures times in the 200 Free and 400 IM. Ella Marsh earned her LCM Futures cuts in the 200 Breast and 200 Fly. Aubrey Tuthill earned Futures times in the 200/400/800 Freestyle races. Anna Bream bettered her Summer Jr. National best time in the 200 Breaststroke.
