This past weekend, five members of Ad Astra Area Aquatics traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete against the best swimmers from Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Lake Erie, Midwestern, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Ozark, and South Dakota at the Central Zones Championships. Claire Campbell, Cierra Campbell, Canaan Campbell, Valentina Rivera and Gretchen Frick were all part of the winning team. At Division 1 Championships we had some great swims in the hot sun. As a team we placed 3rd in our Division (50 swimmers and under). The highlights included our 11-12 relays which placed 1st in the 200 Medley and 4th in the 200 Freestyle. See all the results here. Way to go AAAA!

The 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships were held Aug. 3-7, 2010 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, Calif. The event served as trials for numerous events, including the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships to be held in Irvine August 18-21. The high-point winners of the meet were Ryan Lochte of Gator Swim Club and Missy Franklin of Colorado Stars. Emma Reaney and Molly Albrecht finished strong this weekend with great swims. Emma finished 81st in the 200 Butterfly and 78th in the 200 Breaststroke, while Molly was 108th in the 200 Backstroke....

Irvine, Calif. — Emma Reaney and Molly Albrecht of Ad Astra Area Aquatics have performed well at the ConocoPhillips National Championships through Thursday. Reaney placed 106th in the 100 Fly, 92nd in the 200IM, 62nd in the 100 Breaststroke and 77th in the 400IM. Albrecht was 103rd in the 400 Free. Complete Results here

AAAA had a great weekend of swim meets. We had six swimmers (Molly Albrecht, Rachel Buchner, Canaan Campbell, Heather Clark, Kayla Hedges, and Emma Reaney) travel to Columbia for Region VIII Sectionals. Molly placed first in the 200 backstroke and we had many other top 16 individual and relay swims. Our team placed 16th overall with 132 points, which is an outstanding accomplishment during our first season as a club team.
