Emma Competes at NCAAs - Congrats to Emma Reaney for her performances at the NCAA Championships this past weekend.  She earned All-American honors in three events 200 IM (9th, 1:55.67), 100 Breast (11th, 59.81) and 200 Breast (14th, 2:09.73).  This is an amazing accomplishment!  AAAA Domination at D1's AAAA went above and beyond the expectations at Division 1’s in Topeka this past weekend. Competing against 32 other teams in the LSC, AAAA finished 4th behind KCB, CSC, and TST. All three of these teams had more swimmers compete during the meet. AAAA had 33 swimmers compete in the meet and overall had 95% best times as a team. AAAA sent its largest group ever and had a strong showing at the 2012 Speedo Sectionals in Jenks, OK. We took 15 athletes to Jenks, OK and competed against 600 top athletes from the Midwest. Our team finished in the Top 16 against significantly larger teams. Canaan Campbell was a top scorer, finishing 8th in the mile, while cutting over 15 seconds. AAAA Starts Championship Season on High Note at D2's The past two weekends have been filled with fast and fun swimming. AAAA started the championship season on a high note. Mary Reed Weston, Simone Hehrily and Stephen Johnson led the way by finishing with at least one Gold Medal. Mary Reed Weston took home 3 gold medals in the 100 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Back. We had a fantastic finish at Grand Prix.  Katie Price placed top 8 in her 200 Breaststroke and lowered her previous best in this event to a 2:33.83 on the day.  What a fantastic accomplishment!  Carrah Haley had an in-season best swim in her 100 Backstroke of 1:07.68.  Eric Sparks finished with 2 best times in the 50 Free, 24.95, and 100 Free, 54.55. It was a great weekend for Ad Astra in Columbia -- every team member has reason to be proud!  Go AAAA!

Our very own Katie Price swam her 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:11.96 this morning at the Missouri Grand Prix meet. This time qualifies her for the Olympic Trials, alongside her 200 Breaststroke event. Way to go Katie!  Log on to USA Swimming to see her tonight at 6:02pm in the consolation finals heat.
