We are hosting a fundraiser to suppor Matt - one of our STARS swimmers. Matt Reimer, a second-grader at Deerfield Elementary school, has been diagnosed with X-Linked Childhood Adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD). The leukodystrophies are a group of rare genetic disorders that affect the central nervous system by disrupting the growth or maintenance of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve cells. I wanted to take the time to send a congrats to some of my former swimmers who had great years in college this year: Kendra Stern - Amherst Kendra swam for me in Albuqueque and had a great finish to her collegiate career, setting 2 new national records. Come join the Lawrence Parks and Rec Water Polo Club! What is Water Polo? It is an Olympic sport played in water with a ball, two goals, and two teams consisting of seven players. It is a combination of soccer and basketball in the water. Water polo provides an opportunity for building teamwork, individual skills, and sportsmanship.
