I wanted to take the time to send a congrats to some of my former swimmers who had great years in college this year: Kendra Stern - Amherst Kendra swam for me in Albuqueque and had a great finish to her collegiate career, setting 2 new national records. Come join the Lawrence Parks and Rec Water Polo Club! What is Water Polo? It is an Olympic sport played in water with a ball, two goals, and two teams consisting of seven players. It is a combination of soccer and basketball in the water. Water polo provides an opportunity for building teamwork, individual skills, and sportsmanship. We had a very dominant performance this past weekend from all of the AAAA Division 1 team members. To see complete results CLICK HERE. Team Dinner is this Wednesday at Godfathers. They are going to have a pizza and salad buffet ready for us at 7:30pm. They are going to charge us the lunch buffet price of $5.99 per person. Everybody will pay their own way - no need to collect money. Since the kids are preparing for the big meet, we will be setting out pitchers of water. If someone wants a soft drink they will be charged an additional $.70. Come join the fun!
I'm very excited to bring you news about our Spring Sectional meet. Our Team of Canaan Campbell, Emma Reaney, Heather Cistola, Lucy Sirimongkhon-Dyck, Gretchen Frick and Kayla Hedges did a fantastic job and placed 14th out of some 54 teams. On the Women's side, we were as high as 6th place with one day left. This made us the highest scoring team in Lawrence. At the MAL meet this past weekend a coach from another team approached me and said, "Coach, your kids are awesome... Just awesome." I wanted to say...
