Claire Campbell won the High Point Award for the 11-12 girls age group. Claire also achieved four AAAA time standards. Gold Medal Swimmers: Canaan...

With over 40 teams competing and over 1100 athletes in attendance, Ad Astra made a statement loud and clear at the Jim Devine Invitational in Columbia. We had 41 athletes compete and they all helped us finish 3rd as a team overall. Finishing 3rd as a team is a reflection of the growth that we have experienced in numbers and in quality. This was a team effort as we had relays competing in boys and girls events. We had a great balance of scoring points from our youngest athletes...
Anyone who has questions about the future of USA Swimming needs only to peruse the results from this past weekend. At the Minneapolis Grand Prix, Missy Franklin dominated the meet and swam to a number of lifetime bests – including in-season times that would have won last year’s NCAA Championships (including a jaw-dropping 50.97 in the 100 yard back and 1:50.10 in the 200 back). Also performing well at the Grand Prix was 14-year-old Becca Mann, whom I had picked as the “Can’t Miss Race” in the 400 IM. She...
Ad Astra Goes Above and Beyond in 2012 Swim-A-Thon Quad A reached another milestone this year as we raised $9448 total for the 2012 Swim-A-Thon. This was a total team effort and a huge congrats to the swimmers that participated in the event. It is remarkable to see 70 athletes come together and make a difference for the team in such a positive way. Our team goal was $7000, and we surpassed that as well as last years total of $7500. I also want to thank all of...
Recap of October Meets The Ad Astra swimmers were busy competing during the month of October. We attended the Blue Wave Invitational and the Spooktacular Meet hosted by COOL. Congratulations to Stephen Johnson and David Christie as they won high point for their age group at the Blue Wave Invitational. These two boys finished first in the majority of their races with best times. They represented Ad Astra in the High Point Race. In both meets, we also had several other swimmers finish with best times...

In order to participate in the awards and gifts from USA Swimming and Ad Astra, please turn them in by tomorrow to be included. One thing we do know…is that our top fundraiser gets to put a pie to the coach of his choice tomorrow night during the Trunk or Treat. Drum Roll Please…. Congratulations to Evan Dusselier as the...
