It is never too late to celebrate a successful Swim-A-Thon... The AAAA Swim-A-Thon Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday January 16th at 6PM in the Indoor Aquatic Center. As Ad Astra Area Aquatics grows, we want to continue to advance the structures of our Squads. This is a natural and necessary step in club growth. In our case, team growth and progress has been accelerated and our coaching staff wants to make sure each Squad has the necessary standards of excellence to allow each athlete to reach his or her full potential in swimming. Would you please join me in congratulating the eleven swimmers that will represent AAAA in the Midwest All-Star Meet on January 12-13th. These swimmers were selected from over 200 athletes from the LSC to be on the Missouri Valley All-Star Team. These athletes’ are the Top 5 in their age group in multiple events and have achieved A, AA, AAA, and AAAA time standards. It speaks volumes about our club to have 11 swimmers competing for AAAA. Several of our swimmers competed at Frosty Frolic on December 8th in Lawrence, KS. We finally received the results, so it is time to recognize those that competed. We had two Ad Astra Swimmers take home the 25 Free Championship Belt. Evan Dusselier won the 11-12 Boys Age Group and Ben Stallbaumer won the 13-14 Boys Age Group. Congrats Boys! Ad Astra competed two weekends in December at the Midwest Level 1 and Level 2 Championships. We had 27 swimmers compete at Level 1's in Topeka and 46 swimmers compete at Level 2's in Lawrence. At Level 1's we finished 3rd behind Kansas City Blazers and Columbia Swim Club. We had one swimmer take home the High Point winner of her age group. Athletes that wish to participate in this meet are encouraged to submit the online Meet Entry form listed on the MVS Website. The form must be received by the All-Star Team's Head Coach NO LATER THAN 7:00pm on Monday, December 17, 2012. Entry forms received after this date will not be considered.
