Team Missouri Valley placed second at this year’s All-Star swim meet behind Team Colorado, 1,953 to 1,218. It was a great showing and AAAA played its part. Ad Astra had 11 swimmers compete this past weekend, third most from any team in our LSC. Over 50 Swimmers for Ad Astra started the New Year at True Blue Igloo Meet in Topeka Kansas. The swimmers were ready to race after a hard two weeks of Holiday Training. The training paid off as we had new Sectional cuts, new D1 Cuts, and D2 Cuts. We had new swimmers compete for the first time and it was great having them represent AAAA. As Ad Astra Area Aquatics grows, we want to continue to advance the structures of our Squads. This is a natural and necessary step in club growth. In our case, team growth and progress has been accelerated and our coaching staff wants to make sure each Squad has the necessary standards of excellence to allow each athlete to reach his or her full potential in swimming. Several of our swimmers competed at Frosty Frolic on December 8th in Lawrence, KS. We finally received the results, so it is time to recognize those that competed. We had two Ad Astra Swimmers take home the 25 Free Championship Belt. Evan Dusselier won the 11-12 Boys Age Group and Ben Stallbaumer won the 13-14 Boys Age Group. Congrats Boys! Would you please join me in congratulating the eleven swimmers that will represent AAAA in the Midwest All-Star Meet on January 12-13th. These swimmers were selected from over 200 athletes from the LSC to be on the Missouri Valley All-Star Team. These athletes’ are the Top 5 in their age group in multiple events and have achieved A, AA, AAA, and AAAA time standards. It speaks volumes about our club to have 11 swimmers competing for AAAA.
